⚖️ Battlefield 6 Reveal Receives Mixed Reviews

I’m not usually hyped for Battlefield titles, but I’ll give EA DICE props for always cooking up something unique in a sea of CSGO and COD clones. Some are hype, others have nothing good to say (as usual). Here’s why Battlefield 6 is splitting the community and how it compares to the Battlefield DNA in THE FINALS from ex-DICE team members at Embark Studios

Back To Basics, Kinda

  • Dice is pitching Battlefield 6 as a throwback to Battlefield 3/4, and early play-testers are loving it so far:

    • Urban maps with intense infantry combat

    • Destructible environments for that classic chaos

    • Squad mechanics (dragging downed teamates, etc.)

  • However not everyone is sold, various gaming creators call out bugs, glitches, and other issues on X:

    • Mouse input lag and bullets not lining up with crosshairs (@Ace_Battlefield)

    • Some say it feels too much like Battlefield 2042 with minor changes (@TechFreakOnline)

Battle Royal Gamble

  • DICE is going with the free-to-play battle royal modal

    • Aiming for 100 million players, Dwarfing Battlefield 1’s 30 million

    • Leaked cutscenes look valid but haven’t won everyone over

  • The community is skeptical after past flops:

    • Battlefield V and 2042 were ass to most gamers

    • @GameRant warns this could pull focus from core multiplayer

DICE’s Redemption Arc?

  • DICE is listening:

    • Open weapon loadouts got backlash, so they added seperate class-locked and open playtests for the BETA

    • X users are pleading “no pre-orders” until the BETA proves that it’s solid

Why Gamers Should Care

  • For Gamers:

    • Battlefield 6 may very well be the result of lessons learned from previous failures (look at Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare)

    • Could bring back those classic, squad based, Rambo or Michael Bay moments that Battlefield has been missing for a while

  • For Content Creators:

    • Mixed reviews mean just be real and focus on what’s fun for YOU, not just what’s trending

    • This is the perfect time to come back to a series to see if things will be done right this time around

Final Thoughts

Battlefield 6 is shaping up to be lit, DICE is cooking, but the dish is NOT done. Keep your wallets closed and your hype in check until you get to test it out for yourself. It’s worth noting that The Finals carries some DNA from Battlefield thanks to ex devs like Patrick Söderlund. While DICE tries to redeem Battlefield 2042’s mess, The Finals is already scratching that itch for most making it a solid fallback if Battlefield 6 stumbles. (Not asking anymore, go play The Finals 🫵.)
